I had a six-year old five megapixel digital camera and I had megapixel envy. Well, I received a new camera for my birthday (no, I'm not telling you how old I am), a Canon EOS 500D/Rebel T1i is a 15.1 megapixel Digital SLR. I have a lot to learn to make use of all of its capabilities, but I am having fun learning. So I went looking for a place to showcase some of my work, a very professional online gallery page. I wanted, however, to be able to sell digital photographs there. I found Zenfolio, which has all of the features I’m looking for. I’m giving it a trial run and am not yet using many of its features, but here’s my site. http://susanvineyard.zenfolio.com. One cool feature is the ability to sell U.S. postage stamps of your photos. Gotta go. I just bought some digital photography books that I can’t wait to delve into.

Although I have previously created more complex videos using PowerPoint and Camtasia, I will share how do create a really quick one. (1) Find the lyrics of the song online and paste them into a PowerPoint, one line per slide. (2) Find or create graphics for each line of lyrics and paste them on the appropriate slide. (3) Set a slow transistion between slides. I always choose Fade Slowly. Using the same transition for all gives a much more professional look than using a variety. (4) Use Rehearse Timings and click through your slow as you listen to the music, which will save those timings. You'll probably want to fine tune the timing, but you'll have a good start at timing your video. (5) Use Camtasia to record your PowerPoint show, using your rehearsed timings. (6) Add the sound file into Camtasia. (7) Use the settings at this link to set the output for your video. Now that I, too, have an Iphone, I realize the need of re-designing my website to be moble-friendly. That means, no frames and no tables. It means dusting off my CSS skills, keeping images few and small, and avoiding Flash. Well, check my new page out on your iphone and see how well it works!!
